Remember when I shared with you what our wonderful schools here in MA are doing? I know, your memories may be fuzzy. Let me remind you. They took away tag. No more tag.
I read an editorial in the paper this morning that I really want to share with you all.
I think you'll enjoy it.
"Schools: Protect Kids From Playtime"
Milena Kato- Cambridge
Regarding the Attleboro elementary school bans tag. I agree wholeheartedly with the school's decision to ban the game of tag and other "unsupervised chasing games". It is good to see that safety is the most important concern in the minds of educators, just as it is in the minds of our government leaders. Children are in great danger when they are allowed to run and play as they please. It is the school's responsibilty to protect students from themselves. I would be happy to see all scholls banning sports and physical fitness classes, as well as restricting running and playing during recess hours- all of which could lead to injury and liability risks.
A school's primary concern is its own legal and financial security. All other concerns for creative, social and physical development of its students are secondary".
Thoughts?

wait...I think she's being sarcastic.
If you let your children play tag they will grow up to be like K-Fed.
