Today's Cultural Lesson *

I am a Product of an Interfaith Marriage...
Otherwise I may be like this kid. (Who I love!)
Here is MC's reponse to my "Kosher" post:

MC: i don't get the jewish jokes
MC: it's not very non-jewish friendly
Me:jews dont eat pork
Me: or cheese with meat
MC: or milk apparently
Me: kosher laws*
MC: cheese with meat?
Me: no dairy with meat
MC: what meat is with cheese?
MC: the bacon double cheeseburger
MC: is that like pigs in a blanket?
Me: ure a dumbass
MC: oh... why not?
MC: can they be on the same plate?
Me:nothing in the milk of their mother (which may or may not be right.. but I think ari said it)
MC: but a cow isn't their mom
Me:oh man
Me:yes a cow is
Me:MILK
Me:AND HAMBURGER MEAT
MC: i'm so confused can they have cheese or milk?
MC: so they can't eat that?
MC: so are jews vegetarian?
Me:lol
Me:oh my god
MC: why have i not heard about this
MC: i thought kosher was a name brand
Me:LOL
MC: like the kosher mart
MC: and oh shit, i just dropped my peppermint mocha latte on my cream shirt - that;s what i get for trying to have ABP instead of starbucks
Me: i love u

*Ari: kosher rules state that you are not supposed to mix dairy products and meat products in the same meal. so it is forbidden to have a glass of milk with a hamburger, for example. its bad then too to have cheese on your hamburger. its even worse to have a cheeseburger with a glass of milk. and lastly, pork is not allowed to be eaten at anytime, for any reason, so to put pork on top of a hamburger with cheese and wash it down with milk is at least a triple whammy

Thank you Resident Jew Ari.

MC's Reply: Why is Pork so special?

Ari: its actually not just pork. its any animal that doesn't meet some specific physical critieria - having a split hoof and certain digestive systems traits that i don't really understand. its not cause a pig is "dirty" or anything though. can't eat ostrich, or bison, or rabbit or all kinds of things you find on menus in the florida panhandle.

MC: god if i was jewish and drunk i would be so dead. i would like violate all the kosher rules
MC: i find this all fascinating.
MC: so is there like a website or something that i can view the good and bad foods for jews?

MC: foods for jews lol that has a funny ring to it
MC: but seriously - who made up this stuff? is it in the torah?

(Love Him)

*Update
Me: get it now?
MC: yes
MC: i just had this epiphany when i was in the john
MC: i realized you the mother is my burger
MC: and then the cheese is her milk
MC: so it's like an insult to the mom
Me: Sort of yes.
