Answers! Finally!!

Yeaa!
I finally stopped putting it off and now I have the answers for you from my interview with Erin!
I have to say, participating in The Great Interview Experiment has been wonderful.
And I hope you all have the time to get over there and do this!

Okay.
Here goes.

  1. Why did you start blogging? Why do you continue to blog? Well, to tell you the truth, I started blogging because I had something called "Julie's Gripe Of The Day", that I would tell to friends and colleagues. They were actually fun little anecdotes about crap that happened to me on a daily basis. So I decided that I wanted to record them, you know, for posterity. I think I maybe did one on this site in the very beginning, but not so much since. I continue to blog because I have met so many wonderful people throughout the years and besides, its a lot of fun to talk about yourself, no?
  2. You seem to be quite the concert-goer – what's your favorite song? Are there any memories attached to that song? I have a lot of favorite songs. U2 is my all time favorite band and going to see them in concert has really been a moving experience for me. I've mentioned this on here before but, hell I can mention it again... I moved to Boston for my freshman year of college three days after 9/11. It was really hard leaving my family especially because the events of the day hit so close to home. Needless to say the first month or so of college I had the worst time sleeping. I could only fall asleep if I was listening to U2 on my disc man. It's weird but the first time I got to see U2 was about 2-3 years ago now and it was a totally moving experience for me. They had comforted me when I needed it most. I cried through most of the concert.
  3. Where did you go for your undergrad degree? for grad school? What are they in and why did you choose that course of study? I am a proud Northeastern Husky! Luckily I was able to land a job here also, so I am currently working through my master's program for free. That's right. Gratis. I had 3 majors during my undergrad career and finally finished with a dual degree in Exercise Physiology and Philosophy. I loved philosophy. Not so much existentialism, but more Aristotle. I love physics and the study of the mind. I'm weird I know. Right now I am studying Higher Education Administration because I never want to leave college.
  4. What's your favorite childhood memory involving your mother? Hmm, that's a hard one. My mom and I spent a lot of time at Shea Stadium as a kid. So much so that I could name the entire '86 Mets Championship Team and the positions they played. (I was only 3 at the time, so it was an accomplishment). And Yes I am a Yankees fan... so I guess she didn't do such a good job making me a true fan after that. Another really good memory I have is coming back from living in Argentina (during my Junior year of HS) and seeing my mom waiting for me when I got off the plane, in tears. Best welcome ever.
  5. How many times a week do you go to Starbucks? What is your ultimate Starbucks weakness? Well, at my old job I used to go 5 days a week. No lie. Now I got maybe twice a week. I have two ultimate weaknesses: An Iced Venti Black Tea Lemonade Unsweetened and a Grande Non Fat Gingerbread Latte Extra Hot.
  6. What is your favorite athletic team (professional or collegiate)? The New York Yankees. Done.
  7. How did you meet Tim? How long have you been together? Tim and I met in August of 2002. We were both volunteer camp counselors at this place. We just hit it off right away. However we were both dating other people. My boyfriend at the time... if you could even really call him that was in the Marines stationed in Afghanistan, so it was really hard to tell him that I met someone else. Tim says he had a mutual break up... yea right like those really exist. And about 2 weeks after we met we began dating and we've been together ever since. And no. No ring yet, so DON'T ASK.
  8. Why do you prefer Mac to PC? Because Macs will someday rule the world. Doi. That's right, I'm bringing "doi" back... Seriously though Macs are just so much more user friendly... and haven't you seen the commercials! Sheesh!
  9. What does your ideal engagement ring look like? It would be Platinum, of course. I thought that I liked more of a square cut diamond, but the more I look I've noticed that I like pear shaped, with some on the side... or whatever. Nothing to flashy, but noticeable.
  10. What's recorded on your DVR right now? Lots of Gordon Ramsay: Kitchen Nightmares, Boiling Point, Beyond Boiling Point, F Word. Food Network's Ace of Cakes, and E's Snoop Dogg's Fatherhood.... you know all the good stuff.

Thanks Erin!
Sorry I was so late answering these.
Still love me okay?

I don't know whether to love you for being a Mac fan or hate you for being a Yankees fan.

Umm... yeah, I definitely love you.
