Hey Everyone.
We had a little bit of a scare last night with Bailey, which is why I never got online to post.
Tim called me at about 330 while I was in a meeting at work to tell me that Bailey was sick and vomiting. She managed to bring something up that looked like part of a sock. Of course after what happened last year we thought the worst. I immediately called the vet and she wanted to see Bailey right away.
Around 630 after waiting awhile in the waiting room, we finally got to see the vet. They did a full exam and took x-rays. Luckily, they did not see anything that was causing an obstruction, which is good. However, there was definitely something in her stomach... but it could have been food, since after she got sick, she went over to her bowl and ate.
But we're not out of the clear quite yet. A few things could happen.
- There could be the other sock or other part of the sock in her stomach and it has not yet gone through her intestines...... so a blockage is still potential.
- She could have eaten it into pieces and just thrown up the big part that she ate. If it is in small pieces it could pass without causing a block.
- There could be nothing else in her stomach besides the food she ate and we could be all good here.
We're not sure though, so Bailey was fasted last night. Which was awful, she just sat around and looked at her bowl, like "WHEN ARE YOU FEEDING ME!!!" She's on a bland diet for the next few days. So we fed her about a tablespoon of chicken and rice a little while ago. Hopefully she will keep everything down and nothing will happen and she will be fine and NOT NEED SURGERY AGAIN. Because I seriously can't go through that again.
