'Tute, 'Tute... I'm Gone.

Today is my last day over here in Cambridge.
I was a bit sad this morning as I was getting ready.

But then.... then I had to wait for the Green line. Which TOOK FOREVER.
It was crowded and stupid idiots with luggage pushed themselves onto the train and blocked the door. Then when I finally got to Park Street, the red line was there, but it was not taking passengers (the second time this week) so I had to wait 10 minutes for another one to come.

I was 20 minutes late.
For my last day at work.

It's all Barry Bonds'* fault.

I'm ready to go home.

Luckily I am allowed to leave at noon today, so that they can get my computer/work space ready for my replacement, that is starting on Monday.

I think I will get a pedicure on the way home.

Tonight I am headed to NYC for my cousin's wedding shower.
And it is officially 1 day until the WTF/Sass joint production/debacle/drinkie drinks.

WOOHOOO!!!!!
Have a good weekend everyone!

Et tu, Monday?

Monday.
Oh how I loathe you.
Ever since my sophomore year in HS when Mondays meant I ate lunch at 1030AM.
TEN THIRTY!
That is way to early for Lunch.

This morning Tim and I awoke to the mind numbing sound of jackhammers breaking up the sidewalk in front of our building. Let me tell you, 6:45am is not the appropriate time for jackhammering. Bailey didn't much appreciate it either, since I found her curled up in the fetal position in the only part of the apartment without windows.

The jackhammering/construction forced me to go out the far exit of my building, which then made me miss my train. Needless to say, 10 minutes later, when the next one arrived, it was PACKED. No seat today. At Kenmore Station a group of foreign travelers (who I thought were French by realized they were speaking something not "french" by Boylston ST) got on making the T even more crowded. Great.

birthday present, only to have an entire Iced When I got to Kendall, (still on time for work ahthankyou), I ran to Starbucks to get Haddy's birthday gift card. And because I cannot go 20 minutes without something ridiculous happening to me I had an entire Venti Soy Chai spilled on me by a customer.

::insert expletive of choice here::

Boston 0, D.C 2
(just in case you're keeping score at home).

I had a pretty good weekend.
Which I was all set to blog about today at work, complete with pictures and all.
But that will just have to wait for another day.
Maybe tomorrow.

It's still like the 17th Century. Except that everyone has I-Pods.

So. Hard. Getting Up. This Morning.

Last night, I stayed up a little later than I usually do watching the Yankees beat up on the White Sox and I chit chatting away with some DC Yankees fan.

Tim and I have been talking about moving. It started out as just that, talk. But as the weeks have gone by, Tim has slowly realized that the BFD just wasn't interested in hiring him (or several hundred other people). So the thought of moving somewhere else has gotten more and more attractive. I brought up the idea of moving again last night while laying in bed trying to fall asleep.

Me: This time next year I want to be getting ready to move down to DC.
Tim: Yea. I think that's a good idea.
Me: Really?
Tim: Yea. Maybe I need to get on that Montgomery County Fire Dept application then huh?
Me: Maybe you should

*************************************************************************************

Friday mornings, Tim has to be at the bar at 8am. So we get to commute together which is a mixed blessing.

T: I want to try to get on the earlier train today, not the 7:22.
Me: Okay. I've been getting on the one after the 7:22 and still making it on time.
T: We'll see.

7:15- Tim is still walking Bailey. So no 7:15 train.
7:26- We finally leave the apartment.

The stop was really crowded this morning, which is never a good sign.

T: What's up with the T?
Me: What?
T: Why is he pulling into the station at 5mph?
Me: This can't be good.

"ATTENTION PASSENGERS: The next stop on this train will be BU Central. No Stops in Between".

T:
Awesome. Express! I love when it goes express.
Me: Somehow I don't think it's still considered "express" when you're traveling at 5mph down Comm Ave.
T: No shit. And they want to raise the fares, again. Nothing has improved on this system in the last 10 years. And they still want to charge us more. $2 a ride is enough.
Me: This whole city operates like we're still in the 17th Century. Only we have electricity now.
T: And everyone has an I-pod surgically attached to their head.

By the time we got to Hynes, I couldn't take it anymore.
I got off with Tim and said goodbye as he went to work and I patiently waited for the next train to take me the rest of the way.

8:08am- Finally at Park Street. Fuck I'm late.
8:10am- Yes! Redline train waiting for me on the platform!
8:10am- Wait. Why isn't anyone getting on the train?

"This train is running express to Harvard Square".

8:11
- NO!!!!!!!!!!!
8:15- Still waiting at Park St.
8:20- I need a Venti anything, NOW.

Yep.
D.C'.s looking mighty fine this mornin'.

Never Trust a Big Butt and a Smile.

Okay, now that I have your attention.

This morning I got a seat on the T. Which lately has become near impossible.
When we stopped at Boston University West, this older woman got on the T. Now normally in a situation like this, my first instinct is to offer her my seat. But not this time.

This woman had on head to toe fur. FUR! Who still wears fur! There was no way that this was the fake stuff. She looked like a mother-effing bear people.

There was no way in hades that I was moving my nice and comfortable toasty ass to accommodate her.
Naturally, I avoided eye contact with her the entire trip.

Was I wrong here?

Morning Ranting

Internet. Can I ask you something?
Why does a train standby for 10 minutes at one stop, just to go to the next stop and sit for another 10 MINUTES??!! Doesn't the train know that I have to go to work? I mean I understand that it's Friday, and I may or may not have dressed "casually" this morning but that does not mean that I AM NOT JUST AS IMPORTANT OR HAVE TO GET TO PLACES ON TIME!!!

Whew. That felt good.

Tim and I have plans tonight, with each other, we're going on one of those things. You know what the hell is the word I am looking for. Oh yea, we have a date. Meaning we are actually leaving our apartment and going somewhere. Dinner and a movie to be exact. Look at us, we're like a real couple.

Even if the movie is Reno 911.... so excited.

What I Learned On This Morning's Commute

There's SNOW outside people.
Real, legit snow. Like two whole inches already!
Right now it's more of a "wintery mix", which means little ninja- like snowflakes are falling from the sky at a sharp angle so that they feel like ninja death stars when they hit the one part of your face that is not covered.

The trains ran smoothly this morning, which was awesome. I was the only one at my stop, which made me weary because that must have meant that I missed my train. But a few minutes later another train came and off I went. I spent the whole time chatting it up with the conductor, who has two kids (23 & 19). His daughter graduated from Regis College, his son a marine biology major at URI. Nice enough guy. So I didn't mind talking. Usually I rip peoples heads off when they attempt conversation before 830am.

Things I learned on my commute today:

- Snow on the ground, after not having any snow on the ground makes people friendlier.
- The Celtics have lost 18 straight games.
- They are giving away at least 1,000 day of game tickets to try to fill the crowds
- When they tore down the old Boston Garden, they found Monkey skeletons.***
- Apparently the monkeys got loose during a circus visit. And were never seen again!
- Northeastern (my alma mater) used to have an amazing football program (like 25 years ago)

Let's hope I get to go home early tonight!
Finger's CROSSED!

**Update- To clarify, the Monkeys got into the rafters and were lost. Thats where they found the skeletons. There weren't just random skeletons around. Sheesh!

Commuting & Song- a- palooza!

Good Morning Internet!
TGIFF! Fo' real.

Remember how yesterday I told you that Tim would be commuting with me on Thursdays and Fridays? Could you take a look back at the post and tell me, was I excited about this? I mean I love the guy to death but, HE TAKES FOREVER to get ready. Well that and I am still forcing him to take the dog out all the time because of you know getting a free trip to Mexico and all. Which probably isn't fair to him, but shhh don't tell him. He doesn't read my blog that often anyway so he will NEVER KNOW I said that! Unless you tell him, and then we will brawl.

I can't remember what else I was going to say.
So here's today's last song, "Spin" by Revis.

Can see your inner motive
When you wear it on your face
Indesposed to the world
You won’t let yourself be saved

Your the hand that spins my revolver around
When you push me away

On the waves of an ocean
I’m a space God in the rain
In the arms of devotion
Where you never found your place

You need no one to spin your revolver
So go and get my gun

I can see shes falling faster
Running to her own disaster

Commuting & Song- a- palooza!

Good Morning Internet! Happy Tuesday that feels like Monday.
My long weekend was nice. I worked all day on Saturday, which was fine. I haven't worked in a while on Saturdays so it actually didn't feel as stressful as usual. Sunday was lazy day. Tim and I slept in and watched football and went to Whiskeys for dinner, then he had to go to work and I met up with Kate so that she could come back to my apartment for Raspberry UFOs, Guitar Hero and 24, in that order.

Let me tell you 24 (!!) how I have missed you Jack Bauer. I can successfully say that I got through the first 4 hours, with only one melt down, and that happened about 10 minutes before the season premiere was over last night. I mean seriously....... ok I don't want to relive the last 10 minutes, but it was good, in the whole, oh my god this is fcuking crazy shite kind of way.

My commute was less than stellar this morning, but nothing traumatic happened. Everything was just running soooooooooo slowllllllyyyy (like how I used that for emphasis). I was still on the surface (not underground) at 7:35. SHEESH! But I got to work on time, which is all I care about anyways.

Today's last song is "Father of Mine" by Everclear

Father of mine
Tell me where have you been
You know I just closed my eyes
My whole world disappeared
Father of mine
Take me back to the day
When I was still your golden boy
Back before you went away
I remember the blue skies, walking the block
I loved it when you held me high
I loved to hear you talk
You would take me to the movie
You would tke me to the beach
Take me to a place inside that is so hard to reach
Father of mine
Tell me where did you go
You had the world inside your hand
But you did not seem to know
Father of mine
Tell me what do you see
When you look back at your wasted life and you don't see me
I was ten years old
Doing all that i could
It wasn't easy for me to be a scared white boy in a black neighborhood
Sometimes you would send me a birthday card
With a five dollar bill
I never understood you then and I guess I never will
Daddy gave me a name
My dad he gave me a name
Then he walked away
Daddy gave me a name
Then he walked away
My dad gave me a name
Father of mine
Tell me where have you been
I just closed my eyes
And the world disappeared
Father of mine
Tell me how do you sleep
With the children you abandoned
And the wife I saw you beat
I will never be safe
I will never be sane
I will always be weird inside
I will always be lame
Now I am a grown man
With a child of my own
And I swear I'm not going to let her know
All the pain I have known
Then he walked away
Daddy gave me a name
Then he walked away
My dad gave me a name
Then he walked away

Commuting & Song- a- palooza!

Good Morning everyone!

It is ABSOLUTLEY FRIGID here in Boston today. Although it has warmed up a bit from when I was waiting for the train this morning. All around people are saying, "Finally. It feels normal for it to be this cold". Are you people fcuking stupid? You would rather have it be 20 degrees, feels like 12 with the wind chill than 60 god damn degrees. Well then you are stupid fcuking morons.

That's all I have to say about that.

My best friend Tricia is up visiting me until tomorrow, you know because Tim is away and I hated going to sleep alone at night. She got in yesterday around 5 and I met up with her after work. We went out for beers and burgers and then went back to my apartment to watch repeats of Without a Trace and My Boys.

Tricia and I talk all the time, but since she still lives in NY, I hardly get to see her. But yesterday it was like we just picked right up where we left off. It made me forget all about that idiot in Mexico, I am just ready for him to fcuking come home though. (Tomorrow yeaa!)
Tim called me at like 730 and I was laughing so hard at our conversation that I didn't even hear the phone ringing! I know isn't that nuts! I call it progress people.

Don't forget, it's De-Lurking Week. Everytime you read without commenting God makes the ice caps melt just a little bit more....

Okay, Today's last song was "E Pro" by Beck.
Enjoy!

See me comin to town with my soul
Straight down out of the world with my fingers
Holding onto the devil I know
All my troubles'll hang on your trigger
Take your eyes and your mind from the road
Shoot your mouth off but look where you're aiming
Don't forget to pick up what you sow
Talking trash to the garbage around you

See me kickin the door with my boots
Broke down out in a ditch of old rubbish
Snakes and bones in the back of your room
Handing out a confection of venom
Heaven's drunk from the poison you use
Charm the wolves with the eyes of a gambler
Now I see it's a comfort to you
Hammer my bones on the anvil of daylight

I won't give up that ghost
It's sick the way these tongues are twisted
The good in us is all we know
There's too much left to taste that's bitter

Commuting & Song- a- palooza!

Um. So I totally posted this really funny thing about commuting with Tim this morning.
And its not here. I swear I posted it.
Well so here goes again.

TGIFF Internet! This has been the longest short week ever. I am glad it is coming to an end.
Tim was actually ready at 7:07 this morning! He must have remembered that I threatened to leave with out him last Friday.

While we're waiting for the train, I ask him if his sister is coming to my scrapbooking/video games party tomorrow night. He's not sure. Then we started talking about scrapbooking and how about 4 people was the right size for the party, because scrapbooking takes up a ton of space. Haddy is also coming, which rocks, because well duh it Haddy. I was explaining to Tim that Haddy was having trouble thinking of things to scrap, and well... he reponded:

Tim: Why doesn't she just ask Rachael?
Me: Who?
Tim: Rachael Ray.
Me: Rachael Ray is a chef.
Tim: Oh, wait. I meant Martha Stewart.

D'Oh. Well Atleast he tries to know who these people are.

Today's last song is "I Will Buy You a New Life" by Everclear. This song was really popular when I was in the 9th grade. I was in this art class at my HS called Visual Perception and you had to take your favorite song lyric and make it into a symbol book, (where you use symbols for words and stuff), anyways I used something from this song and it was the COOLEST.

Here is the money that I owe you
So you can pay the bills
I will give you more
When I get paid again
I hate those people who love to tell you
Money is the root of all that kills
They have never been poor
They have never had the joy of a welfare christmas
I know we will never look back
You say you wake up crying
Yes and you don't know why
You get up and you go lay down
Inside my baby's room
I guess I'm doing ok
I moved in with the strangest guy
Can you believe he actually thinks
That I'm really alive
I will buy you a garden
Where your flowers can bloom
I will buy you a new car
Perfect shinny and new
I will buy you that big house
Way up in the west hills
I will buy you a new life
Yes I will
Yes, I know all about that other guy
The handsome man with athletic thighs
I know about all the times before
With that obsessive little rich boy
They might think you think you're happy
Yeah maybe for a minute or two
They can't make you laugh
No they can't make you feel the way that I do
I will buy you a garden
Where your flowers can bloom
I will buy you a new car
Perfect shinny and new
I will buy you that big house
Way up in the west hills
I will buy you a new life
I will buy you a new life
Yes I will
I know we can never look back
Will you please let me stay the night
No one will ever know
I will buy you a garden
Where your flowers can bloom
I will buy you a new car
Perfect shinny and new
I will buy you that big house
Way up in the west hills
I will buy you a new life
I will buy you a garden
Where your flowers can bloom
I will buy you a new car
Perfect shinny and new
I will buy you that big house
Way up in the west hills
I will buy you a new life
I will buy you a new life
I will buy you a new life
